    For many years I have wanted to photography the aurora, but I never could be there at the right time. This summers explosive aurora’s made it possible to finally photograph it. I ventured out to the Oak Orchard Wildlife Management Area to capture this scene.

    A winter storm was brewing over one of the most unique Finger Lakes in New York. Hemlock Lake is one of two Finger Lakes that are undeveloped. It also serves as a water source for the city of Rochester.

    This view of the Genesee River at the Big Bend in Letchworth State Park has always intrigued me. This shot during the fall exposed those bare tree along the shore which just helps show off the curve of the river.

    This is one of the most fun shots I have ever created. After watching YouTube on long exposures I decided that Myers Point Lighthouse was going to be my subject. Everything turned out great and the finished image is everything I expected it to be. The interesting parts of this photo is that the lighthouse sits on Cayuga Lake. Even better the lighthouse is about 8 feet tall. The magic of photography created this image.

    I was photographing Holley Falls and took the walk down the trail. I came upon this fisherman and asked if he minded his picture being taken. I told him to turn around and see what was behind him and once he did he said WOW. In the end a great photo was created.

    Presque Isle State Park, in Erie Pennsylvania, my first morning and I came upon this wonderful composition. I later found out the heron actually had a name, Waldo.

    The evening light showcases the ice rimming the tree in the water on Canadice Lake. Canadice is another special Finger Lake as it to is undeveloped and left in it full natural state.
