    For many years I have wanted to photography the aurora, but I never could be there at the right time. This summers explosive aurora’s made it possible to finally photograph it. I ventured out to the Oak Orchard Wildlife Management Area to capture this scene.

    This dramatic waterfall is located at Havana Glen Park. It is know for the impression on the wall by the falls, it looks like an eagle, ergo its name of Eagle Falls. On this day I was there on the spring thaw and the creek was roaring. The chocolate color is a bonus.

    This is from a wonderful little park located within the city of Batavia, DeWitt Park. An old gravel pit turned into a park. And a beautiful one it is. Offering peaceful reflections all around this lake.

    Another shot from DeWitt Park in Batavia. An early summer morning here. I lined up the shot with the reflection and sky just making such a beautiful composition. And then I pressed the shutter and magic happened, the fish jumped.

    Deep in the back of DeWitt Park is this nice alcove. On this early spring day the light and the reflections created a wonderful scene.

    This shot is from Burke Falls up outside of Malone, New York. This was a wonderful little waterfall, but I did arrive a little to late in the morning. The high skies created some challenging shooting conditions. I found this scene with a little tree cover and the biggest blessing of all a passing cloud.

    A winter storm was brewing over one of the most unique Finger Lakes in New York. Hemlock Lake is one of two Finger Lakes that are undeveloped. It also serves as a water source for the city of Rochester.

    A winter walk at Reynold Gully. Ice encrusted most of the rocks in the creek creating many interesting designs and scenes.

    This view of the Genesee River at the Big Bend in Letchworth State Park has always intrigued me. This shot during the fall exposed those bare tree along the shore which just helps show off the curve of the river.

    I originally went out to photograph a foggy day at DeWitt Park, but nothing much materialized. I heard a train coming and went to the tracks and the fog and the train created a fantastic image.

    This is one of the most fun shots I have ever created. After watching YouTube on long exposures I decided that Myers Point Lighthouse was going to be my subject. Everything turned out great and the finished image is everything I expected it to be. The interesting parts of this photo is that the lighthouse sits on Cayuga Lake. Even better the lighthouse is about 8 feet tall. The magic of photography created this image.

    Rock Lake is located in the Adirondack Mountains in New York. This view provides a sweeping view of Blue Mountain whose peak is 3750 feet. This is a peaceful place where all your really hear is the sounds of nature.

    I was photographing Holley Falls and took the walk down the trail. I came upon this fisherman and asked if he minded his picture being taken. I told him to turn around and see what was behind him and once he did he said WOW. In the end a great photo was created.

    Presque Isle State Park, in Erie Pennsylvania, my first morning and I came upon this wonderful composition. I later found out the heron actually had a name, Waldo.

    There is this little waterfall in the town of Avon, the Papermill Falls. It is situated just below a bridge which is covered with graffiti. This shot is taken at the lower part of the falls creating a dramatic flow of the water.

    The evening light showcases the ice rimming the tree in the water on Canadice Lake. Canadice is another special Finger Lake as it to is undeveloped and left in it full natural state.
